BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - The car’s OK on the lawn in Bossier City, but maybe not the recreational vehicle.
The northwest Louisiana city, reports The Times (https://bit.ly/1hr3NwF) is moving toward passing a ban on parking recreational vehicles on front and side lawns.
Councilman at Large David Montgomery, who sponsored the ordinance, says citizen complaints over the past several months from across the city led him to propose the ban.
Resident Bill Eaton, who says his RV has been parked in his yard for several months, finds the ban unnecessary. He says too many Bossier City property rules already go unenforced. Eaton says his neighbor’s complaints may be some of those Montgomery heard.
Montgomery says the rule is meant to bolster property values.
As proposed, each day of violation would carry a $500 fine.
