MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia University’s forensics program has received a $250,000 donation from entrepreneur and philanthropist Ming Hsieh.

The university says the donation from the Ming Hsieh Faculty Development Fund will support exemplary faculty in the Forensic and Investigative Science Program over the next five years.

Hsieh has given more than $5.5 million to the university. He also has established two distinguished professorships in teaching and research.

The university awarded an honorary doctorate of science to Hsieh in 2012.
