COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony to honor the nation’s fallen is being held at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery in South Carolina.

Fort Jackson commander Brig. Gen. Bradley Becker is speaking at the 9 a.m. Monday event. Brig. Gen. David Coburn of the U.S. Army Central at Shaw Air Force Base, is also attending.

The public is invited to attend the program, which will also include an invocation, a rifle salute and taps played by the 282nd Army Band.

The 585-acre national cemetery is located northeast of Columbia at 4170 Percival Road.

It is open daily from daily from sunrise to sunset.
