INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana has a new director looking to bolster trade between the state and Japan.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has announced that Toshikazu “Tony” Suzuki will be the new director of the state’s trade office in Tokyo. He replaces Yasuhiko Kano, who is retiring after having represented the state since June 2010.
Suzuki has worked as an executive in both Japan and the United States. Suzuki became Marubeni Corp.’s representative in Indianapolis in 1986. Suzuki later served as executive vice president at Precision Tools Service in Columbus.
The state’s Japan office was established more than 30 years ago to attract companies and investments to Indiana. One of Suzuki’s first jobs will be moving the state office from Nagoya, Japan, to Tokyo.
