HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine the motive for a shooting that left a southern New Jersey teenager hospitalized.

Hamilton Township police tell The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1msI1wW) that the 17-year-old boy was found just before 11 p.m. Sunday, when officers responded to a call in the area of Flintshire Court.

The teen had suffered a gunshot wound to his back and was taken to a hospital, where he was listed Monday in stable condition. Further details on his injuries were not disclosed.

Authorities say details on the shooting remain unclear because the youth has not been willing to cooperate with investigators.
