MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Basketball standout Lester Rowe is among eight people selected for induction into West Virginia University’s Sports Hall of Fame in September.
Athletic director Oliver Luck announced the Class of 2014 on Sunday.
Rowe was a four-year starter under coach Gale Catlett from 1982-85. He helped lead the Mountaineers to three NCAA tournaments and one NIT appearance. His 1,524 points rank 17th in school history and his 787 rebounds rank 13th. He’s now an assistant coach on the women’s basketball team.
Others to be inducted include pitcher Chris Enochs, football standouts Gene Lathey and Mike Logan, former men’s basketball coach George King, golfer Mike Krak, rifle standout Michael Anti and women’s tennis star Jo Marie (Cinco) Bohn.
Induction ceremonies will be held Sept. 20 before WVU’s home football game with Oklahoma.
