BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Gov. Jack Dalrymple has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

His proclamation is in accordance with one signed by President Obama.

Dalrymple is also asking state residents to observe the president’s request that Americans unite in prayer at 11 a.m. local time and that a moment of silence be observed at 3 p.m.

Dalrymple will commemorate Memorial Day by attending a veterans ceremony at the Capitol Grounds beginning at 10 a.m. He also will attend a ceremony at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan at noon.
