Kurt Busch on Sunday attempted to become just the second driver to complete both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 auto races in a single day. Some of the numbers:

Indianapolis 500: 500 miles, 200 laps on 2.5-mile oval. Busch started 12th.

Coca-Cola 600: 600 miles, 400 laps on 1.5-mile oval. Busch qualified to start 28th.

Coca-Cola 600: No. 41 car, Stewart-Haas Racing, Chevrolet engine

Indianapolis 500 average speed (2013): 187.433 mph

Coca-Cola 600 average speed (2013): 130.521 mph

Busch’s estimated hours in the car Sunday: As many as 8 hours

Miles on the track: 1,100

Miles in the air: 530 miles between Indiana and North Carolina

Double Dip: Busch is the fourth driver to attempt The Double. He joins John Andretti (1994), Robby Gordon (1997, 2000, 2002-04) and Tony Stewart (1999, 2001). Stewart finished sixth at Indy and third at Charlotte in 2001, become the first driver to complete all 1,100 miles.
