ATLANTA (AP) - Visitors to Atlanta’s zoo over Memorial Day weekend may get a chance to see two warthog piglets for the first time.
The 5-week-old siblings are expected to make their debut this weekend at Zoo Atlanta. The piglets, named Lex and Eleanor, are the fifth litter for 8-year-old warthogs Shirley and Vern.
Shirley gave birth to four piglets on April 17, but two of them died.
Warthogs are found throughout the savanna of eastern sub-Saharan Africa and aren’t currently classified as endangered.
