UPPER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - State Police have identified the man who was seriously injured when the dump truck he was driving plunged off a Garden State Parkway bridge in southern New Jersey.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1jPwh8W) reports that 50-year-old Theodore Parillo of Tuckerton remained hospitalized in critical condition on Saturday, one day after the crash occurred in Upper Township. But further details on his injuries have not been disclosed.

Authorities have said Parillo was southbound when the truck struck a concrete barrier around 2:30 p.m. It then spun out and veered backward across both lanes of the roadway before going over a barrier and plunging about 75 feet into the Great Egg Harbor Bay.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

No other injuries were reported.
