Former GOP congressman and political commentator Allen B. West says he knows “the ground truth” about what really happened during the Benghazi attack.
In a blog post on Friday, Mr. West wrote that during a flight from Detroit he had a moment that he truly felt was God sent when he sat next to a friend of a one of the men that was at the Benghazi attack.
“Benghazi and the operations in Libya are shrouded in a fog of lies, deceit, manipulation, threats, intimidation, coercion, abandonment, and worst of all, potentially treason,” Mr. West said.
He wrote that his seatmate drew maps and schematic of the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi and explained that men were ordered repeatedly to stand down and do nothing.
“Thank God two of them, Glenn Doherty and Ty Woods, lived up to their code of honor and ran to the sound of the guns, resulting in their loss of life — but the preservation of life for others, their fellow Americans,” Mr. West wrote.
Mr. West learned from the source that Ambasador Chris Stevens had requested better security before the attack but was denied, “the question is, by whom?”

He also said that those with knowledge of the event have been threatened with pension cuts if they speak up, ad that there was a covert weapons scheme happening under the radar in Benghazi.
“We had been supplying radical Islamists with weapons against Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi, effectively supplying the enemy and destabilizing that country. And it seems that there was a CIA weapons buy-back program, the aim of which was to ship the retrieved weapons out of Libya through Turkey, and to the Islamist forces in Syria.”
He was critical of Democrats reluctance to act as Republicans have and said that those involved, including the President, must appear before the House Select Committee.
“And to those Democrats appointed to the committee: if you seek to obstruct the revelation of the truth, you are complicit and guilty as well,” Mr. West said.
