BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A group that promotes business and relationships between Alabama and Germany is offering a class to bridge cultural gaps between the countries.

The AlabamaGermany Partnership is bringing in a consultant from Tennessee for a half-day program on cross-cultural training.

German-owned Mercedes-Benz is a major employer in the state, and Germans played a key role in building Huntsville into a major space and rocket hub.

The class is meant to help develop understanding and cultural awareness between Alabamians and Germans. The aim is to make Americans more comfortable dealing with colleagues and clients from Germany.

The event is being held June 3 in Birmingham.
