YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - The Yankton School District and its teachers have reached a tentative agreement on a contract, one month after negotiations ended in impasse.

The Daily Press & Dakotan reports (https://bit.ly/1t2Omjr ) that pay and health care were the main sticking points.

The School Board declared an impasse on April 24, and the Yankton Education Association on May 1 asked the state Labor Department to intervene. The tentative contract was reached after a session involving the two sides and an administrative law judge.

President Jim Fitzgerald says the School Board likely will vote on the contract June 9. Yankton Education Association President Carol Larrington says teachers will vote next week.
