PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A Pascagoula police officer Daniel Snyder will be sentenced June 20 after being convicted of felony fleeing an accident that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old Ocean Springs girl.
Snyder was convicted Thursday.
Jackson County Circuit Judge Dale Harkey on Friday allowed Snyder to be released on bond pending a pre-sentence investigative report.
The 44-year-old Snyder will have to wear a GPS device, have a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., surrender any passport and not drink alcohol.
Snyder was off-duty on Feb. 22, 2013 when the accident occurred.
Authorities say Katelyn Braun and a friend were walking in a street when she was hit by Snyder’s truck.
Snyder is facing a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
