Meghan McCain said on Ora.TV’s “Politicking” this week that her father, Sen. John McCain, wouldn’t have won the 2008 race for the precedency even if Jesus Christ himself had run as his vice president.

She made the remark in context of discussing with host Larry King the impact of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on her father’s White House run, Breitbart reported.

Mr. King asked: Did your dad make a mistake in picking Ms. Palin to join his ticket and face-off against then-Sen. Barack Obama?

Her answer: “No, I don’t believe so. My father could have had Jesus Christ as his running mate and it wouldn’t have mattered.”

Ms. McCain also said that the media “annihilated” Ms. Palin because she is a strong woman.
