SEATTLE (AP) - A Seattle man who killed his roommate’s fiancée after he was told to move out has been sentenced to more than 28 years in prison.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/jMztmo ) that victim Kevin Bell had allowed his childhood friend, Austin Spearman, to move into his Seattle condo in the summer of 2010. However, court documents say Bell got engaged by the end of 2011 and asked Spearman to move out.

Prosecutors say the 53-year-old Spearman didn’t comment on the eviction notices but attacked Bell and his fiancee Kristy Boyd after they went to bed. Bell ran out of the condo and Spearman locked him out. Prosecutors say Spearman then attacked and killed Boyd, stabbing her multiple times with a large knife.

Spearman was sentenced Friday in King County Superior Court.
