ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - An Aberdeen man who lit a pillow on fire while a woman was sleeping on it has been sentenced to serve three years in prison.

Twenty-three-year-old Taylor Hardies pleaded guilty to felony reckless burning and admitted breaking probation rules. The American News reports (https://bit.ly/1k11gJn ) that he must serve at least one-fourth of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

Authorities say Hardies and the woman had dated. The woman threw the burning pillow out a window and was not hurt in the October 2013 incident.
