WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - The family of a Jesup woman killed in a motorcycle crash last year has filed two lawsuits.

Katlyn Leekley died when the motorcycle she was on was struck by a pickup driven by Bryan Cornwell. Cornwell was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for his role in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle suffered traumatic brain injuries.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1lJ7Rd1 ) Leekley’s family filed separate lawsuits in April against two businesses that allegedly served alcohol to Cornwell. The lawsuits claim the businesses - Bucketz Bar & Grill in Jesup and Heartland Acres Agribition Center in Independence - served Cornwell alcohol before the crash to the point of intoxication.

An attorney for Bucketz denies the allegations. Attorneys for Heartland Acres say they’re taking the lawsuit seriously.
