CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore. (AP) - Crater Lake National Park says it’s opening North Entrance Road in time to give holiday weekend visitors access to spectacular views of the lake from West Rim Drive.

The park says it’s able to open the road Friday because of warm temperatures and a low snow pack this spring.

Snow remains on the ground at Crater Lake, however it is possible to hike and bike on the parts of East Rim Drive that have been plowed.
