BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his new running mate, former U.S. Rep. Kathy Hochul (HOHK’-uhl), are hitting the campaign trail with a rally in western New York.
The two Democrats were in Erie County on Friday for a rally at a union office.
The visit was their first campaign trip since they accepted their party’s nominations this week on Long Island.
Hochul is a Buffalo resident and is currently a vice president at M&T Bank. Cuomo selected her this week as his pick to be the state’s next lieutenant governor.
This fall they face Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino, who is the Westchester County executive, and his running mate, Chemung County Sheriff Chris Moss.
Astorino and Moss were also campaigning Friday with visits in Buffalo and the Southern Tier.
