BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Employees of the Green Mountain Express bus company in Vermont are scheduled to vote next week on whether to join the Teamsters Union.

William Kelly, trustee organizer for Teamsters Local 597, tells the Bennington Banner (https://bit.ly/Jea059) that 23 people at Green Mountain Express are eligible to vote Wednesday.

He said drivers in the company approached the Teamsters earlier this year when union drivers working for the Chittenden County Transit Authority went on strike.

Kelly said drivers had been feeling disrespected. But Donna Baker, executive director of Green Mountain Community Network, which runs the company, says she has an open-door policy to address concerns.
