CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Three sharks donated to the South Carolina Aquarium are in their new home.
The staff at the Charleston aquarium moved the three sharks from the Oklahoma Aquarium into the 385,000-gallon Great Ocean Tank on Friday.
One of the male nurse sharks is 250 pounds and 9 feet long. The two other sharks, also male nurse sharks, are 7 feet long and weigh 200 pounds apiece.
The transfer involved moving the sharks out of a smaller tank on a special shark stretcher. Then, they were wheeled to an elevator and taken to the top of the Great Ocean Tank where they were placed in the water.
The three sharks joined 750 animals in the massive tank, which now has 14 sharks.
