Woman killed in hit and run in Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a woman has been struck and killed while walking along a road in Lincoln County.

The woman was hit around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on a road about four miles north of Lincolnton. Her name has not been released.

Authorities say the woman was walking home from a convenience store when she was hit. She died at the scene.
