CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - NASCAR has downgraded the license of Truck Series driver Jake Crum for an incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway last week.
NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said Crum has been blocked from driving at tracks longer than 1.25 miles. He is also allowed to drive on road courses.
The discipline stems from Crum’s interaction with Ryan Ellis in last Friday’s race. After the two tangled earlier in the race, Crum and Ellis were racing side by side when Crum drove into Ellis and sent him into the wall.
Tharp said NASCAR would monitor Crum at future races and determine when it might allow him to again drive as longer race tracks.
