SENECA, S.C. (AP) - Federal regulators have scheduled a public meeting to talk about their assessment of the Oconee Nuclear Station.

Officials from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission are holding an open house at Oconee World of Energy in Seneca on Thursday.

Agency staff will be on hand to answer questions about the plant’s safety performance in 2013. Overall, the NRC says Oconee’s three units operated safely last year.

The plant about 30 miles west of Greenville is operated by Duke Energy. Earlier this month, water with traces of a radioactive hydrogen isotope leaked while it was being transferred between chemical treatment pools, but regulators said workers and the public were not at risk.
