BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - A weekend search turned up no new clues in the February disappearance of a Butte man who was suspected of embezzling $175,000 from a union.

Butte-Silver Bow Undersheriff George Skuletich tells The Montana Standard (https://bit.ly/1nuREKM ) that about 30 members of the 15-90 Search and Rescue team searched Saturday in the Homestake Pass area where 54-year-old Jim Ryan’s union-owned car was found on Feb. 20, a day after his wife reported him missing.

Officials initially suspected Ryan may have stopped to go for a run on his way to work in Helena.

However, the Lewis and Clark County sheriff’s office later confirmed that Ryan was under suspicion of embezzling from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association and was to meet with union officials about the missing money the day he disappeared.
