MONROE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 47-year-old man found face down in a creek near his home in Monroe may have drowned.

Police say they responded Wednesday afternoon to Plum Creek, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit, and the man was pulled from the water. CPR and other measures were performed in an attempt to save his life, but police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was pending Thursday. The man’s name wasn’t released by police. Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact investigators.
