MILWAUKEE (AP) - President Barack Obama’s approval rating has held about steady in Wisconsin, with 48 percent of registered voters saying they approve of the job he’s doing.

A Marquette University law school poll released Wednesday says 45 percent disapprove of his performance, and 6 percent don’t know.

A similar Marquette poll two months ago found that 47 percent approved of the president and 49 percent disapproved

Pollster Charles Franklin says Obama’s approval rating has improved as fewer people express dissatisfaction with the new health care law.

The poll of 805 registered voters was conducted from May 18 through Sunday. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
