FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says a Spring Lake man is charged in connection with the death of a 73-year-old man who disappeared last month.

A statement from the sheriff’s office says 20-year-old Samuel Lorenzo Davis is charged with first-degree murder, common law robbery and felony conspiracy. Spokeswoman Debbie Tanna says additional charges are pending.

Davis is being held without bond on the murder charge in the Cumberland County jail, and records didn’t indicate whether he had an attorney.

Family members reported 73-year-old Clemasee Guyton of Fayetteville missing on April 22 after they became concerned when he failed to return home.

On Tuesday, Guyton’s remains were recovered behind a school off Lillington Highway in Spring Lake.
