VERNAL, Utah (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in the killing of a 53-year-old Vernal man who was strangled in his home in July.

Vernal police say they booked 29-year-old Christopher Codi Andersen into the Uintah County Jail Wednesday for suspicion of criminal homicide in the death of Christopher Miller. He’s being held without bail.

An autopsy completed last week confirmed that someone strangled and beat Miller before his body was found on July 6. His official cause of death was manual strangulation and blunt force trauma.

Police said in July that Miller’s roommate was a person of interest in the case but had not named him. They said in a statement Wednesday that they had been monitoring Andersen since then and that he had spent some time in jail on unrelated charges.
