CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Former Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith has been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Smith entered the NFL Draft after his junior year with the Cowboys but was not drafted. He signed a free agent contract with Tampa Bay instead a little over a week ago.
Smith participated in Tampa Bay’s rookie mini-camp this past weekend.
But he was released Wednesday along with two others. The Buccaneers decided to sign first-year quarterback Alex Tanney, who spent last season with the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys.
