HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Alex Bregman homered and drove in five runs to lead LSU to an 11-1 victory over Vanderbilt Wednesday in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Tigers (41-14-1) scored three runs in the seventh inning to win under the 10-run mercy rule. The Commodores (41-17) move into the loser’s bracket of the double elimination tournament.

Bregman was 3 for 4 with the three-run homer in the fourth. He also doubled and had a sacrifice.

Jared Poche’ (9-3) allowed five hits in seven innings. Mark Laird and Conner Hale also had three hits each for the Tigers. Laird scored four runs, drove in two, stole two bases and had a double and triple.

LSU outhit the Commodores by a total of 15-5.
