RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Southern California man they believe killed a woman and left her dismembered body near train tracks.
Riverside police say 28-year-old Christopher Brown was arrested Tuesday at his Riverside apartment, which sits next to the tracks where Jamie Harmer’s remains were found last month.
Police say Brown was taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant but he’s expected to be charged with Harmer’s murder.
It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer.
Harmer’s remains were found on April 27. Authorities say her body had been dismembered and placed in several plastic bags that were scattered along the tracks.
The 32-year-old Harmer was a transient from Thief River Falls in Minnesota. She’d lived in Riverside since March.
There’s no word on a motive for the killing.
