FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Xcel Energy is coming to Fargo for its annual shareholders’ meeting.

Company officials say it makes sense to hold the meeting in North Dakota because of its vibrant economy and Xcel’s recent investment in new transmission lines across the state.

Xcel Energy provided electricity to 90,000 customers and natural gas to 48,000 customers in North Dakota, including Fargo.

The company does business in eight states.

The meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Fargo.
