EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Jet engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney has announced that United Parcel Service Inc. will open a 600,000-square foot distribution center in New Hampshire.
The East Hartford, Connecticut-based company said Tuesday that the UPS facility will receive parts and store and build manufacturing and assembly kits and manage inventory and provide freight transportation.
Pratt & Whitney said it will take advantage of UPS’ ability to monitor and track products across the jet engine maker’s supply chain.
The Londonderry, New Hampshire, facility is set to open in June 2015.
UPS began providing services to Pratt & Whitney 10 years ago. The companies have expanded the work to include handling of small packages and international air and ground freight.
Other logistics centers operate in Atlanta; West Palm Beach, Florida; Dallas; and the Netherlands.
