DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Rockies activated outfielder Michael Cuddyer before their game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.
The reigning NL batting champion has been out for a month with a strained left hamstring. The 35-year-old Cuddyer said it “feels good to get back on the field and put my pom-poms away and pick up a glove instead.”
He’s hitting .317 with three homers and 10 RBIs this season.
To make room on the roster, Colorado optioned right-hander Chris Martin to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Martin made nine appearances for the Rockies and had a 4.15 ERA.
