STORRS, Conn. (AP) - UConn basketball coach Kevin Ollie reportedly has agreed in principle to a new contract to keep him with the national champion Huskies for the next five years.

Yahoo! Sports first reported the deal, which it says would pay Ollie about $3 million per season.

Athletic Director Warde Manuel and Ollie did not immediately return messages seeking comment. A UConn spokesman said the school had nothing to announce.

The 41-year-old coach, who spent 13 years as an NBA journeyman before returning to his alma mater, had been linked to several NBA job openings, including with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He said last week he planned to remain at UConn, and was working with Manuel on a new deal. He made more than $1.6 million last season.
