TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tempe say they are searching for a man suspected of fatally shooting a woman and wounding his neighbor.
They say the double shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of an apartment complex near Baseline and Kyrene roads.
Police identified 33-year-old John Brazel as the person of interest in the shootings.
The neighbor who was injured saw a man and a woman arguing in the complex parking lot and tried to intervene.
Police say Brazel pulled out a gun and allegedly shot the woman and then shot the neighbor before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
They say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the male victim was taken to a Tempe hospital.
Their names aren’t immediately available.
