CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Panthers have announced they’ve signed a pair of rookie draft picks - safety Tre Boston and cornerback Bene’ Benwikere.

Boston was the team’s fourth-round draft selection and Benwikere was a fifth-round choice in this year’s NFL draft.

Financial terms were not released Tuesday.

Boston played in 48 games and started 40 at North Carolina and finished his career third in school history with 13 interceptions.

Benwikere started 47 games and twice led San Jose State in interceptions. He finished his career tied for first in school history with 14 interceptions.

The Panthers also signed free agent linebacker Billy Boyko. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Boyko participated in team tryouts this past weekend after spending the 2013 preseason with the Oakland Raiders.
