NEW YORK (AP) - Police say two people have been killed in an auto accident in Brooklyn.
It happened just after 6:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U in Marine Park.
Police say a Nissan Maxima traveling southbound on Flatbush Avenue struck a BMW which was turning onto Avenue U. The 20-year-old driver of the Nissan, Philbert Martin Williams, was taken to Coney Island Hospitalized where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in the Nissan, 18-year-old Christina Wipper, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both lived in Brooklyn.
Police say the driver and a passenger in the BMW were treated for minor injuries at Kings County Hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
