PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Jury selection will continue Tuesday in the trial of a Pascagoula police officer accused of fleeing the scene of an accident that killed an Ocean Springs teen.

Circuit Judge Dale Harkey denied a request to move the trial of Pascagoula Police Officer Daniel Snyder, the Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1vvCc6X), after 24 potential jurors told Harkey they could rule impartially based on trial evidence.

Miller argued publicity would prevent Snyder from receiving a fair trial in Jackson County. The officer is accused of leaving a Feb. 22 accident in Ocean Springs that killed 16-year-old Kaytlynn Brann.

Snyder was off duty when he struck Brann with his truck as she was walking. She died a day later.

Snyder faces up to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
