MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A fire that destroyed a Muncie dry-cleaning business produced smoke and flames that could be seen from miles away.
Fire battalion chief Mark Adams says flames were pouring from the roof of the Vogue Cleaners when firefighters arrived Monday evening at the business southeast of the city’s downtown area. A large portion of the building’s roof collapsed as flames spread to the front of the building.
Adams says the fire’s cause is under investigation.
Business owner Bill Shroyer tells The Star Press (https://tspne.ws/1o1oKFW ) he’s grateful none of the store’s 11 workers where there when the fire broke out.
Shroyer says the business had been at the site since 1928. Shroyer has four other Vogue Cleaners locations in Muncie.
