BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The chairman of the School Board in Vermont’s largest city says the board wants the public’s help in selecting a new interim school superintendent.
Burlington School Board Chairman Patrick Halladay says the board hopes to find an interim replacement for outgoing Superintendent Jeanne Collins quickly, and is asking for suggestions of candidates from parents, taxpayers, teachers, civic leaders and others.
Collins resigned under pressure last week after an independent report commissioned by the School Board revealed last month that her office had been making big budget errors.
Collins is to step down June 30, with a separation package worth $225,000. Halladay says the board hopes to find an interim replacement by early June.
