HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Trey Killian and Zach Jackson combined to throw a seven-hit shutout as Arkansas beat Texas A&M 4-0 in the Southeastern Conference tournament opening round.

Arkansas (36-21) advances to face Mississippi on Wednesday, when the tournament switches to a double-elimination format. Texas A&M (33-24) was eliminated.

Killian (4-8) picked up the win Tuesday, throwing six scoreless innings before Jackson shut down the Aggies the rest of the way. Jackson earned his second save of the season.

Arkansas held a narrow 1-0 advantage most of the afternoon, but broke the game open with three runs in the seventh inning. Eric Fisher hit his ninth homer of the season.

Texas A&M had seven hits and two walks, but couldn’t find a way to score. Daniel Mengden (4-8) took the loss on the mound, giving up four runs in 6 1/3 innings.
