ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An official says a fire at a three-story Anchorage apartment building has left 24 people without a home.

The Anchorage Daily News reports that 14 fire units responded late Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported and the fire was under control in less than an hour.

Emergency Medical Services Battalion Chief Steve Mendive says the blaze left the six-unit building with charred walls and a partially torn down roof.

The cause is under investigation.
