TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - State police have arrested two men who may have tried to climb the superstructure of the Tappan Zee Bridge to get a good camera angle.
A police report says someone called the barracks in Tarrytown at about 2:30 a.m. Friday to say two people were making their way up the bridge.
Responding troopers found two men walking along the bridge roadway, where pedestrians are not allowed.
The police say 27-year-old Grant Gilliam and 28-year-old James McCullagh, both of Queens, were charged with reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and walking on a state highway.
They’re due in court Tuesday. No lawyer is listed for them.
Police report the men said they were trying to take pictures.
A new bridge being built to replace the Tappan Zee will have pedestrian walkways.
