A truck that gives couples the chance to exchange some quick and intimate moments in the comfort of a four-wheeled vehicle with a specially designed back seat bench — the “Hook-up Truck” — is set to hit the streets of San Francisco.

It’s aimed at giving passionate couples a semi-private retreat for those occasions when a private bedroom isn’t an option.

The truck’s owners said it will provide a “private, secured room” as well as “complimentary birth control and STD preventatives,” a local CBS affiliate reported. It’s also equipped with cameras and is perfect for “festivals, weddings, holidays parties” and other public outings, the owners said.

“The room [on the truck] is designed with cleanliness in mind,” creator and artist Spy Emerson told CBS. “I’ve created a very minimalist room. Everything is wiped down and cleared before and after every person. It’s probably cleaner than the BART or any public toilet you’ve used.”

Rather than a bed, the truck is equipped with a custom-made bench “designed to facilitate positioning for the average-size bodies,” the company said.

The truck may only be used by those age 21 and over, and participants must register with the service online.

“This is a game for adults who want to play with sex,” Mr. Emerson said. “You have to be nice, and cool. No drunks, but everyone is welcome to join us. There will be a party going on all the time.”

The truck is poised to open for business this weekend.
