CINCINNATI (AP) - Xavier University has added two years to men’s basketball coach Chris Mack’s contract.
The school announced the new agreement Monday, extending Mack through the 2019-20 season. Other terms weren’t announced.
The 44-year-old Xavier graduate is 111-57 overall in five seasons, with four NCAA tournament appearances. He became coach in 2009, promoted from assistant after Sean Miller took the University of Arizona job. Mack was on the late Skip Prosser’s Xavier and Wake Forest staffs.
Mack led the Musketeers to two Atlantic 10 Conference regular season titles. Xavier was 21-13 last season, tying for third place at 10-8 in its first Big East season.
Athletics director Greg Christopher says the basketball program is pointed in the right direction, with goals to win the Big East and make the Final Four.
