SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Woodbury County supervisor faces more charges in connection to alleged domestic abuse at his home in December.

The Sioux City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1vuv6iT ) 44-year-old David Tripp now faces felony going armed with intent and misdemeanor first-degree harassment.

Tripp has pleaded not guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor of domestic abuse assault in connection to a Dec. 14 incident involving his wife at their Sioux City home. He is accused of firing a gun into the air. No one was injured.

Assistant Iowa Attorney General Coleman McAllister filed a motion to add the charges. District Associate Judge Julie Schumacher approved it Monday. Tripp’s attorney, Robert Tiefenthaler, declined to comment. The newspaper reports Tiefenthaler plans to do a second deposition with Tripp’s wife.

Tripp’s trial is scheduled to start in August.
