MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the 26-year-old woman who was shot to death by Madison police over the weekend.

The Wisconsin State Journal (https://bit.ly/1jjzyfr) reports the Dane County medical examiner’s office identifies her as Ashley DiPiazza of Madison.

Police say DiPiazza was armed with a handgun and did not comply with officers’ instructions before she was shot in her apartment.

Officers had been called to the apartment on a domestic disturbance report around 1:20 a.m. Sunday.

An autopsy confirmed she was shot to death.
